    Chapter Seven

Natalya could get a little obsessive sometimes, even she knew this, although she’d rather describe it as passionate rather than obsessive. She was also a collector, mostly of knives but she liked other things as well, such as coins or even her music collection. She also wanted to make sure that her family was never jeopardized in any way, she loved them too much to do so. She always wanted the three of them together, especially after the untimely deaths of their parents that had her older sister being forced to take care of them. Although Katyusha didn’t seem to mind it, Natalya thought that it was up to her to make sure they never left. Ever.

However, Vanya’s eyes would wander, making it harder for them to stay together forever. Her sister didn’t have the same issues as Vanya did, so she didn’t have to worry about her. However, every time that Vanya tried to get away, tried to break their family apart, and so she did the only logical thing and tried to stop it any way she could. Be it from stalking, threats, or even just earning a reputation for being kind of off her rocker. Which was beneficial as that meant that she would be able to keep her family together forever as her reputation would be able to keep everyone else away.

Then Vanya went to Austria to go to school instead of somewhere at home in Russia. No amount of begging, pleading, threatening, or any of her other tactics seemed to work. He still went off to school, leaving her there in Russia with her sister, alone, and without her able to scare of those that

tried to steal him away. The phone calls she was able to listen in on didn’t reassure her either, mostly as she was sure that somewhere, Vanya was being courted.

And the idiot was most likely following along, being led like a lamb to the slaughter before they were able to trap him either with blackmail or perhaps even a child. She shuddered at the thought. She had to protect him, protect her family, make sure that they always stayed together. Mostly since that was how they survived this long was being together, working as a team. Having Vanya torn away from them would be a death sentence, so she had to find a way to marry him, make him see that this was for the best. All so that they would be able to exist together as a unit. One that didn’t fall apart because of something as insignificant as another human being.

“Sister,” she said in a questioning tone, “when is Vanya going to come back to Russia? I miss him dearly and he hasn’t visited since last New Year’s.”

“He’s busy with school right now,” she answered, kind, as usual, but also with the hope that one day, she would grow out of the phase. That was what her siblings were calling it, like they didn’t see the danger that was going to tear them apart. This was why she was the one with the idea to marry her brother in the first place. Because the other two were too blind to see that they were putting all three of them in severe danger. “I’m sure that he’ll visit at least around Christmas after New Year’s. He was last year and I’m sure he will be this year again.”

“I hope so, I really miss him,” Natalya sighed, eating her breakfast. It was true, she did miss her brother since he usually helped her with her homework or any chores that she needed, but also to make sure that he was okay. She had never been to Austria, and didn’t know of the hardships that her brother must be facing. Especially with speaking that grunting German instead of their lovely mother tongue. She never did understand why he would want to speak anything else but forgot the matter for the one at hand. “Although I guess it’s better for him to hurry up and graduate so that he can come back to Russia and find a job. I will not marry a poor man, even if he is my brother.”

She knew that look on her sister’s face, the kind look she gave her often when she talked about marrying their brother. Maybe it was the same type of look one would give an insane person that believed that trees were the gods of the world and they didn’t want to break their hearts or their spirit. However, she knew that she was doing this for the right reason, watching her siblings work so hard to keep them in the same house they were born in, doing odd jobs to pay the bills, making sure that there was enough food on the table when they were growing. It was this that lead her to believe that the only way to preserve the way of life was to keep them all together. By any means necessary.

“How about that young man that apparently had a crush on you,” Katyusha asked, happy to have heard that someone decided to try to court her sister. Although the end result could have been better, let alone having to pay for the half the medical bills. It was sort of endearing until that part came up. “Has his fingers healed any since the last time?”

“The idiot can use most of his hand now,” Natalya replied boredly, uninterested in the man’s plight. It was his fault for trying to hold her hand on the pseudo date that they went on, mostly just so that she could shut him up from asking her every day. Not that she didn’t find him charming, he was an outsider. And outsiders were not allowed into the family, as they would break it up somehow and allow the other two just spiral down into oblivion unless they too caught the hands of nice enough strangers to secure them a home. And she did not want to take that chance. “Although he still asks me out, the idiot. How can he think of dating when I’m the one that broke his hand! You’d think I broke his head with the way he carries on, it’s like it didn’t even happen.”

“Maybe if you give him another chance,” Katyusha replied with a smile, one that she hoped was reassuring. It was nice to have someone decide that they wanted to date her sister, and even better that they were able to look past her obsessiveness with her brother, which she still hadn’t exactly uncovered the reason for. Maybe one day, she would be able to figure her youngest sibling out. “I’m sure that he learned his lesson with you and surely, it would allow you to at least make a friend, da? Then maybe Vanya’s absence won’t be so hard on you. And a friend isn’t cheating on him before you try to come back with that. It is just another connection.”

“I don’t need any outside friends,” she replied stubbornly. “I have you and I have Vanya. There is no one else in the world that I need.”

Sighing, and looking at the time, Katyusha stood up, clearing her plate from the table. “As you wish sister, but I must go out to the fields now, if you would be able to tend the animals? I”m sure that they’d like to having their breakfast as well.”

Nodding and gathering her own plates, Natalya liked playing with the animals, those were the only “friends” that she felt that she needed. Being a farm girl had it’s benefits, and the money that they pulled in from harvest would last a good while, although not through the whole winter. Maybe she would be able to get a small job somewhere to help with the winter bills, Katyusha having her flower stands and seed selling when it was off season for vegetables and such in the greenhouse, where it helped it wasn’t enough. One day, though, after Vanya graduated, and she married him so that no one else could steal him away, he could find a good job, one to where they wouldn’t have to work so hard or even really worry about what was going to happen in the coming months that was always the hardest to get through.

In a perfect world, she thought as she fed the animals in the barn. In my own little perfect world.

-Scenes change, and they’ll grow more-

Ivan sneezed again, not sure if he had an early fall cold or if someone was talking behind his back, fearing it was either his sister or Gilbert. Either one would not be the most ideal candidate on being thought by, mostly since he hadn’t really spoken to either of them during the past few days, spending them with Roderich when he could, playing chess or even going over his scripts while the other man played the piano. It was a very relaxed and comfortable routine, one that he didn’t want to break anytime soon. It was also kind of quiet, which was a nice change of pace and his improving attitude was a rather nice surprise as well.

Roderich himself wasn’t too bothered by the fact that he and Ivan were spending so much quiet time together, but he was fearing that they weren’t becoming better acquainted because of it. It was too quiet, with little being said or done, and with the absence of Gilbert, there was really no conversation starters that didn’t end in awkward silences (at least for him) that he would let linger on too long to where his piano had to speak for him. It was during those times that Ivan turned to his own art and homework, hopefully not meaning that he was too bored about the lack of stimulating conversation, although he did sometimes interject with a comment about his playing that at least meant that he was listening. He had that on his side at least.

“Roderich,” Ivan said again with a frown, the music stopping for the third time in the middle of a piece, wondering what had the other man gazing off like he was doing. Distracted by something in his head that was clearly bothering him that not even playing his favorite instrument seemed to be able to cure. That did not bode well with him at all. “Roderich, what is bothering you?”

“Oh, it’s nothing,” Roderich replied in a flourish, flustered at the fact that he had stopped playing unexpectedly again. Maybe he was really too preoccupied with this to focus on his music which was disappointing. He didn’t like being too distracted that he couldn’t’ play, mostly because that was the way he coped with life. “Forgive me, I don’t seem to be in the mood to play much today.”

Ivan did frown at that, as he didn’t really believe that Roderich wasn’t in the mood to play, but something heavier weighed on his mind. And as he wanted to find out badly, but wasn’t exactly sure how to go about it. He wished his German was as good as his Russian sometimes, as it would be easier to talk without having to try to translate in his head. At least he was better at it than he had been when he first came. The initial culture shock was always the worst.

“I believe that you are not telling me the truth,” Ivan finally said, trying to word his phrases carefully and tactfully. What he wouldn’t’ give to be speaking Russian and for Roderich to be able to understand it. “Something is bothering you, da? And that is causing you trouble. I would like to know what it is. Maybe it will be better to talk about it? I don’t like it when you lie nor are able to play because of something that is bothering you. I’d miss the music too much.”

Roderich was silent for a moment, Ivan thinking that he failed horribly and conveying what he felt. Damn his limited vocabulary! He could understand things just fine, it was the speaking part that came harder, especially with his varied emotional state. He didn’t like it when people were silent and thinking like Roderich was, although maybe the other man was thinking of his own answer? He hoped so, he didn’t like this feeling that was making him wanting to squirm in his chair like a child who was denied something important.

“It is the fact that we spend a lot of quiet time with each other,” Roderich finally said with a sigh, feeling silly all of a sudden for allowing something so trivial bother him so much. Maybe he was over thinking this whole thing. “We don’t really do anything but sit here and stay quiet.”

“We could always play a game,” Ivan suggested. “Like chess. Do you like chess? I find it challenging against a good opponent. Like my older sister. She doesn’t look like much of a chess player but she is very good and I’ve learned most of her tricks, but not all of them. So I can provide a good opponent if you’re scared of that.”

“Sounds like a fun challenge,” Roderich replied, glad that would allow them to become closer as well as have a little bit of fun. What was dating without a little bit of fun anyway? And this would be able to see if Ivan’s boasting was true about his chess playing skills. He was a good player himself, or at least he liked to think so. “I do think that you’re going to be sadly disappointed when I’m able to pull some tricks out of my own sleeve. Don’t underestimate me. I may not have had siblings to play with, but I did have a nanny and she made sure that I learned everything she knew about chess and other games. I do believe that her tricks will beat your sisters.”

Ivan’s eyes narrowed at that, he wanted nothing more than to prove that his sister’s teachings were better than any caretaker’s Roderich may have had. Maybe it was something due to family pride, but either way, it had to be upheld. “Da, I accept then. We shall see who’s the better chess player.”

And with that, the two sat at a small table, with a chess board, and light teasing conversation as Gilbert watched from his room for a moment, a smile spreading across his lips. He would get them both for sure, one way or another. The closer that they became to each other, the better for him, as he would be able to at least persuade Ivan into trying something with the three of them. Roderich might have a bit more to say on the matter, but he was sure that between the Russian and himself, Roderich wouldn’t’ stand a chance.

Slinking back into his room, quietly shutting the door, he went back to his computer, figuring that with everything progressing as he expected, to update his blog and talk to his brother who was most likely on by now. He really wanted some pictures of his birds as proof that they were being cared for, and that their awesomeness was being preserved while he was away from home. At least he would get some important things done while the other two built the relationship with each other, all the better for him to profit from.

    Chapter Eight

Research was something that came easily to Ivan, mostly since he had done a lot of it before coming to the country, and he was happy that his skills were being put to the test now. Where the chess game proved that his sister’s skills were indeed the better, and maybe a little more about Roderich. Like the fact that the other man liked animals, he did not know that before, and didn’t mind the snow while he, himself, disliked it. Greatly. He sort of wished that they were allowed to have animals in the dorm, so he would be able to get Roderich at least a song bird, to perhaps give him music when he didn’t want to play. However, that wasn’t what he was researching at the moment, this was something that wouldn’t get them kicked out of the dorms and onto the streets, just a dinner date.

Reading reviews for some local restaurants in the city, he wondered exactly which one Roderich would like more. The other man could enjoy a simple meal, that was proven, but Ivan was also pretty sure that the other man could also appreciate some of the finer cuisines of the higher classes that he was a part of. Ivan didn’t have too much money to play with, as he didn’t like dipping into his part of the inheritance that their parents left them. He’d rather keep it in case of something happening like a bad harvest or perhaps Katyusha’s flowers not selling well in the winter. He did not like the fact that he wasn’t there to help, but he had to allow Natasha see that he was not the only man in the world and it was wrong to go about the way she did. And it allowed him to breathe a little easier to know that she wouldn’t be able to follow him here.

“Oi, Ivan,” Gilbert said in his doorway, Ivan keeping it open in case one of them needing something. “I need some more paper. Antonio stole my notebook again and I’m actually doing some work. My instructor wants me to make this awesome background piece and I need to do some planning!”

“Over in the drawer,” Ivan replied. “You should know where, da? You have stolen it before without permission.”

“Yeah, but that was when we were fuck buddies,” Gilbert laughed, trying to hide the faint pain when he admitted it out loud, and the way Ivan didn’t seem to acknowledge that he even spoke it out loud at all. “Even the awesome me can respect the fact that I need to ask for such things now. That or face Roddy’s wrath again. I don’t’ think either of us want that.”

“Yes, I think I like the quiet of the house kept… quiet,” Ivan replied, not being able to think about another word off the top of his head. It wasn’t strange for Gilbert to be speaking of Roderich in such a manor, in fact, he would have thought it odd if the German man was able to ignore the Austrian for any more than five minutes. He didn’t know what Gilbert’s feelings were for any of them anymore, and wasn’t too interested in finding out as he didn’t want to hurt the man. “It is peaceful, da?”

“If you mean boring as all hell, yeah, sure I guess I can deal with that,” Gilbert replied, sticking out his tongue. “But anyway, thanks for the paper man. That’s how many notebooks I owe ya?”

“About four if I have counted right,” Ivan replied, going through the lists of moderately priced restaurants in the area. Some of these looked nice and were in his price range even. He wondered if Roderich would like them… he hoped the other man did. That would be another point for him on this relationship scale. “And do not be mean to Roderich. I would hate to have him beat you up again over something as trivial as a snide comment.”

Gilbert just grinned at that, heading back towards his own room, trying to keep focused on his assignment instead of trying to goad Ivan into his plan. It was much, much too early to try anything yet, he doubted the two even had a proper date yet! He would have to wait at least until then, that way, he would have the prefect opportunity to pounce and finally put this thing into action. Either way, the assignment was due in a week, and he hadn’t even really started on it yet. With a sigh, putting his relationship status on the back burner once again, he went to work, trying hard not to think of the possibility of fun with a Russian and Austrian in his bed, all three doing unthinkable things to each other.

Roderich himself was sipping his tea, looking over the scores that he needed to learn by the next class period, finding them a bit more difficult than some of the other ones that he had been playing and working on, but all that more to work on them. He did like a bit of a challenge with his music, and this piece was certainly going to give him a bit of trouble, especially with some of the bridges between the main melodies. That was one thing about contemporary composers, they wanted to ‘wow’ a crowd that was so use to soft melodies or chords that always ended nicely or cleanly. The newer ones wanted discord, wanted to express their want to shake things up a little but needed those that would play it and bring that feeling.

And he was always up for a decent challenge such as that. But it never hurt to go over the basics, such as key changes, crescendos and decrescendos, tempo changes, and just looking over difficult looking parts of the piece so that he felt somewhat prepared instead of horribly unprepared when he did start to practice it. Placing his tea on the adjacent table, placing the sheet music on the piano, wiggling out any kinks and began to play. The notes flowed easily enough, but he had to remember that the chords wouldn’t end naturally and had to resist the urge to just follow what his expectations were and follow what the composer had written instead. It wasn’t hard to do, but still required some thought, one of the downfalls with pretty much only playing pieces composed by the greats.

Ivan and Gilbert were both torn from their activities, both coming out to see what in the world Roderich was doing. The music was faster than usual, and would slow down almost sweetly at some parts before picking back up, but not in volume, but just speed. Ivan couldn’t place a time when he heard such a piece played by Roderich while Gilbert was just curious on how exactly Roderich could have brought a piece to life when he never heard it before, and knew for certain that this was the first time that the other man played it. Then again, he really shouldn’t have been surprised. After all, the man was talented, and went to go back into his room while he watched Ivan head further out into the living area, most likely to investigate. It sort of irked him how little the other man knew about Roddy, but it was to be expected. The Austrian didn’t really like anyone too close and even Gilbert had to force his way into the other man’s friendship.

He didn’t like admitting the fact that he liked Roderich a little more than that to anyone, mostly because it would complicate an already complicated situation. He didn’t expect Ivan to “break up” with him when they weren’t really even going out, that put his other plans to a full stop before they even really began. He was going to slowly start coaxing the other men into perhaps thinking about a three way with him, but that ended as soon as the other two decided to become official. He didn’t need them broken up for his plan to work, but he had to at least showy hat he was interested at least a little bit in some way an make the other two see that it could work with all three of them.

As he sat back down at his cluttered desk, Ivan’s notebook filled with designs of his current school project, Gilbert got back to work, deciding to let them become closer. It just meant that he was going to have to change a bit of his plan again. No matter. He would get them both whether they knew it or not, and show them that he was right. He grinned at that thought, their thankful faces thanking the awesome him for coming up with the idea in the first place! But first was this damn project. Damn school work.

Ivan went into the living room, taking a look around at the serene atmosphere that seemed to settle around Roderich’s music. It never mattered what the other man was playing, there was always seemed to be a mood that he would walk into. It was peaceful, as if all was right with the world, and it was accented with the late afternoon sun filtering into the place, making it seem like something out of a movie. Something that was really only to be looked at and not really touched, but Ivan was here, living it, and it felt so surreal.

“That is not one of your usual composers,” he said, shuddering in distaste at the last chord that didn’t dissolve cleanly with the rest of the piece. “I am curious on what had you playing this. It is interesting but… ah… not to your taste.”

“It’s something I’m working on for my class,” Roderich replied with a displeased sigh, obviously not caring for the way the piece ended himself. “However, I do wish that the composer ended it properly instead of that ugly ass chord. How dare he even try to vile up my sound with that bullshit!”

“I have never heard you speak so loudly about music before,” Ivan chuckled, sitting down in the nearby chair. “Now that piece of garbage is over, do you think that you could take a break and perhaps play something you like? I would like to hear you make the piano sing and not cringe. It would be better, da?”

“J, I’d like that,” Roderich replied, always happy to play for an audience. “However, I will have to play that tripe again, as it is for class. But I guess that I can indulge a little bit. And ask the piano for forgiveness.”

Sitting back down, having stood to try to tune an off note that had been irritating him since he started the piece, he began to play anything that came to mind really. he didn’t have any particular piece in mind when he started playing, but it seemed that Ivan was enjoying it anyway, eyes closed, head resting against the back of the chair, looking very relaxed. With a smile, he continued, playing the sun off into the night as a sort of lullaby, wondering if such things could really happen. Perhaps the night liked such a soft entrance as well or maybe he finally caught the crazy that seemed to be going around. That would make more sense than he would like to admit.

Listening for awhile, Ivan’s mouth quirked up into a smile. He always did enjoy listening to the notes dance in the air around him, and with his boyfriend playing, it just seemed that much more magical. Waiting for a few moments, he decided that he should now ask his que4estion that he had been holding onto for the past while, and maybe he wouldn’t be disappointed with the answer. Hopefully. He would be heartbroken if Roderich didn’t respond in the way that he was hoping. he was sure the other wouldn’t object to a proper date, as Ivan himself wanted to court the other man the proper way, or as proper as he could manage.

“I was thinking,” he said softly, as if afraid to disturb the music that continued to float in the air even after he spoke, opening his eyes to see Roderich looking at him, but not stopping the music. “Perhaps over the weekend you would like to go out? I have been looking at restaurants in the area and I would like to take you out to dinner.”

“That sounds lovely,” Roderich replied with a nod. “Although I would like to know where we are going so I am dressed properly for the occasion. After all, it wouldn’t do if I out dressed my date.”

“It will be not too flashy I hope,” Ivan replied. “I am still looking at places. I would ask for help, but I am sure that I can do this. Austria is a very beautiful place anyway. So if we get lost on the way there, we at least will have pretty things to look at.”

“This is the city of parks,” Roderich replied, moving into a more difficult part of the music. “There are a lot around here so if we leave early enough, we can perhaps even take a stroll through one. With the leaves, they are very nice this time of year. I’m sure that you’ll like it.”

“Da, I’d like that a lot,” Ivan replied, feeling giddy inside that Roderich liked his plan and was even helping! This was going to turn out very well after all! He didn’t have to be scared at all! This wasn’t like Gilbert who would have brushed him off or even p[perhaps try to get him to come with him on one of his party hopping nights. He preferred a quiet night rather than one that was full of drunk people, although he had to admit Gilbert drunk was a charming sight, especially when he started coming onto him… he had to stop thinking like that. He was in a proper relationship now. He couldn’t think of Gilbert like that anymore, as much as that pained him. Maybe when he got to know Roderich a little better it would be a bit easier.

“Is Saturday a good day for this then,” Roderich asked, continuing to play with a faint smile that ghosted his lips. “Since you don’t have evening classes and I get out fairly early in the afternoon myself. Perhaps we could even meet for a lunch or have our stroll during that time. That way we won’t be rushed at the restaurant or rushing to get there in time to be served.”

“That sounds like a good plan,” Ivan smiled, still feeling bad for thinking about Gilbert when he was talking about taking Roderich out to eat. On a date. He was going on a date. He would have to tell Katyusha about this when he talked to her next. She would be so proud of him!

Continuing to play for a little while more, Roderich kept his thoughts on the music instead of the nervous butterflies that seemed to nestle into his stomach. He had never been so actively perused before, maybe because all his other suitors had been shot down with the fact that he was already engaged and was planning to marry her. But this, this was a new and interesting experience and he couldn’t say that he wasn’t sort of excited about it either. Maybe he should do some research as well, such as what was proper for a first date as he and Elizabeta had known each other since they were children and therefore didn’t have to date to really get to know each other, or to know what was proper. Mostly since they followed the examples of their parents which were pretty much set in stone and were basically told what was proper and what wasn’t.

Looking at the clock, dusk settling over the land, Roderich sighed and finished the song that he had been playing, Ivan snoring in his corner, apparently falling asleep to his music which had Roderich smiling. It was sort of cute and endearing on how the bulking Russian was like a child sometimes, falling asleep anywhere as well as just the way he went about trying to make sure that he wasn’t stepping on any toes. Taking a blanket from the closet, he didn’t want the man to get a cold after all, he discovered Ivan and then went to go make dinner.

As he moved about the small kitchen, he wondered what Gilbert was up to, as the other man had made himself scarce for the better part of the day which had him somewhat worried for his and van’s safety as that meant that the other man was plotting something. Well, it usually meant that the other man was plotting something, and usually against him, such as planning his call list when he was hopelessly drunk during the weekend and he needed someone to go pick him up and help him back to the dorm. With a sigh, he decided to just focus on dinner, as that way he wouldn’t be worried about what wasn’t going to happen for awhile yet. Hopefully.

“Gilbert,” he yelled, washing his hands and placing the plates on the table. “Dinner’s ready.”

Looking over at Ivan, the man not even flinching when he yelled, Roderich went over and cautiously rubbed his hand through the soft hair. He was surprised just how soft it was, expecting it to be wiry like it looked, but it was a nice texture that seemed to fall through his fingers. Thick too. Shaking his head, reminding himself that Gilbert was going to be coming out soon, he worked on waking up Ivan, moving his hand to the other man’s shoulder and giving it a small shake.

“Come on Ivan, dinner’s ready,” Roderich said softly with another shake, waiting for the other man to acknowledge that he was there in the living room.

Ivan himself was having such a pleasant dream. One that he didn’t have to worry about which man he wanted to be with, but instead was somehow able to mash them into one person that was charming and arrogant at the same time, one that he could ask to play the piano and yet expect a drunken phone call from at three in the morning, asking to be picked up, that he would be able to have his way with and yet wake up gently with like he expected he would be able to do with Roderich. Hazy violet eyes looked up to a darker shade, blinking a little at the soft light that came from the dining room, and a smile that he was learning that Roderich only showed to those that he liked or when he was truly happy with something.

“Come on Ivan, dinner’s ready. I have to go get the dumb ass git that is still locked away in his room. Go ahead and start without us,” Roderich said, adding an affectionate pat tot he head as he went off to tear Gilbert away from whatever he was doing. Hopefully the other man wasn’t looking at porn again and masturbating. That had been one of the most embarrassing things in his life to walk in on and he had always made sure to knock before entering the man’s room now.

Ivan stretchered, getting the kinks out of his muscles after the awkward sleeping position and headed groggily to the dining table, sitting down but not starting to eat yet, as he felt sorta guilty in starting before the other two got to the table. Maybe he had manners or maybe it was something from his childhood, not wanting to accidentally take more than his sisters who most likely needed more than he ever did, as he was sure that Natasha was still growing and Katyusha needed the strength for farming as well as her flowers and the animals.

Yawning, he tried to ignore the yelling coming form the other room. Either Gilbert was looking at porn again or he said something to upset Roderich again. Either way, it made him smile, as this was what he expected home to sound like. Full of life. Not the cold distance that he seemed to share with his sisters, not because he wanted to, but because it was what he thought that was how a family was run. No matter how wrong that seemed. With a smile, he wondered when the other two would come out and if they would still be in foul mood? Life was so much more interesting than it used to be!

Meanwhile, Roderich was not in a very good mood, and was glaring at Gilbert, who while wasn’t looking at porn for once, but still apparently wanted to be annoying. Instead, he was looking at some pictures, some of which had himself as the subject in rather compromising positions. A part of him wondered where the got half of them and the other part didn’t care and just wanted to kill the German man for being such a damn perv, with him in the house even! At least he wasn’t masturbating, as that would have warranted some severe punishment rather than just a scolding. Really, he was a taken man before this relationship! And he was taken again now! What the hell was the German thinking?

Where did you get those,” Roderich shouted, face red with embarrassment and anger. “I demand to know this instant how you got those damn photos and I swear to God if I find out you have been doing inappropriate things to them I’ll have your head on a golden platter hanging above the damn doorway!”

Such language Roddy,” Gilbert pouted, not even feeling one bit embarrassed or apologetic of the situation. Just because he wasn’t going with the plan right at the moment, didn’t mean that he couldn’t have a little fun with the group. Ivan wouldn’t be as much fun, as the other man knew he kept the photos of them, or at least he hoped that he did. If he didn’t, Gilbert would be sorely disappointed. “They’re just pictures that I took when I was bored and you just happened to be home. That’s all.”

You damn pervert! Delete those at once,” Roderich yelled, going for the computer to make sure it was done, even if he had to do it himself. “You will not be tempted to do inappropriate things with them if they don’t exist!”

D- don’t be like that Roddy,” Gilbert yelled, blocking the computer. All he needed was for them to be deleted when they could have been used as great blackmail if the other male really pissed him off! Or even sold to profit if his funds ever really became too low. After all, he was sure there was many a girl around campus who would die for such photos of a dressing Roderich, half naked lounging one when he thought that no one else was home, or even one of him sleeping! Hell he worked hard to get them too, it took forever to get half of them and with decent shots! Like hell he was going to allow them to be deleted! “I promise that I won’t use them for such things! Just don’t delete them! Do you know how hard I had to work to get them!”

You shouldn’t even have them in the first place,” Roderich replied, trying to push the other man out of the way. He was going to have his way if it killed him. “Now let me go and save my pride and dignity before you try to defile it with your damned imagination or something!”

Not budging, happy that he was more muscular and able to hold his ground than the Austrian who was trying to move him, Gilbert smirked. “Oh, so you do have a dirty side! I never know Roddy! What kind of things do you think about? Who’s the one that is in your bed the most huh? Me or Ivan! I gotta know! I do!” This might be easier than previously thought to get all three of them together. Much, much easier.

What I think about is none of your damn business pervert,” Roderich shouted, face going red. He didn’t want the other man to know anything that could be counted as blackmail against him, nor did he want to admit that he did have somewhat of a perverted side, especially not to a pervert! That could mean all sorts of bad things for him in the future! “Now let me delete those damn photos out of your computer! You have absolutely no right to have such things anyway!”

Don’t I,” Gilbert grinned, leaning against the desk a little, in a somewhat more suggestive pose while still defending his poor threatened computer. Perhaps he should back them up just in case Roderich decided to delete them when he wasn’t around. Yes, he would do that as soon as possible just so that he would be able to keep them without Roderich knowing, just to do the inappropriate things with. Just like the ones he kept of Ivan, which he hoped that the other man didn’t mind. Mostly because he was with Roderick now. “I mean, you obviously have thought of us. Together.”

Roderich knew that Gilbert didn’t know that maybe he had thought about it maybe once. Or twice. Or maybe even a little more than that, but he didn’t need the other man to know about it at all. He thought about a lot of things over the years that he wasn’t proud of, such as some situations with Elizabeth doing things that she wouldn’t fairly admit to in polite society. “I will neither confirm nor deny that statement,” Roderich replied, not liking to lie but not wanting to admit the truth either, his voice dripping acid. “However, I would like to inform you that dinner is ready.”

With that, he turned out of the room, trying to keep his blush down and recounting the times that maybe he had been thinking of Gilbert is some compromising positions, and making sure that the other man wasn’t home. He tended to try to make sure the object of his current fantasy wasn’t home when he pleasured himself, not that he would admit it to anyone that he did. That would be improper and inappropriate after all, as well as no one else’s damn business. Perhaps the other male had some of the same things going on, but instead of keeping them in his head, they over poured into the real world via camera? With a snort, he decided that Gilbert could have his adulterated fun, it wasn’t hurting him and it was only fantasy. Besides, he had Ivan to worry about, not a terrible tempered German.

Gilbert himself sighed in relief as he set up his pictures on the safety of his external hard drive, as well as emailing them to himself for safe keeping and just in case. He wouldn’t be able to live his life to the fullest if they were taken away from him, and he didn’t want Roderich to change his mind. With his picture stash all safe and sound, he headed out to the dining room, where Ivan waved sleepily at him and Roderich just ate his dinner, looking as if he was going to ignore both of them for the duration of the meal. Fine with him actually. He didn’t want to fess up to having his complete collection of pictures still being on his computer if Ivan wanted them deleted. That would have been much worse than Roderich, as Ivan would make sure to destroy all evidence, Gilbert not putting it past him to hack into all of his emails just to make sure.

You’ve been quiet this afternoon,” Ivan observed, finally waking up enough to eat. “This project for class must be big, da?”

Ya, it is,” Gilbert replied, not looking at Roderich at all, just focusing on his food, trying his hardest to not to start a fight he didn’t feel like fighting at the moment. After all, his rare pictures could be at stake! And that was just something that could not be had! “I’ve got half of it done, however matching the colors to the ones that the director gave me for the costumes has been hell. There’s just nothing that really compliments orange! I’m sorry!”

It’s a challenge then. Isn’t that something you like, Gilbert,” Roderich asked, also avoiding eye contact with Gilbert, as he didn’t want to look at that smug sneer that he was sure was there at the fact that he was able to keep his pictures, which made Roderich blush the tiniest bit at the thought. Really Gilbert should have more class than to do something like sneaking around and taking pictures of him naked or in a half state of dress! “And I’m sure you’ll find something that works. You are in the school for a reason aren’t you?”

I can, but he doesn’t want too many dark colors so it’s gonna be harder than usual,” Gilbert replied, muttering. Taking a glance at Ivan, the Russian seemed to be enjoying his and Roderich’s unease, which wasn’t surprising. The man had a lot of quirks that Gilbert just didn’t completely understand.

I’m sure you will do fine,” Ivan finally said, offering a smile as he finished his plate. “However I think that I will be going to bed. I am much more tired than I thought I would be.”

Want someone to come and warm it up for you,” Gilbert teased, although he didn’t expect the glare that Ivan gave him in return. Maybe the big guy just wasn’t into a joke right now. “It was just a joke big guy. Really.”

One you should not make,” Ivan replied sternly, heading off to his room making Gilbert flinch. This just wasn’t his day.
